Tilabay wins Lartigue for Mullins/Walsh
Feature event on day two of the Listowel Festival, the Grade C Listowel Races Supporters Club Lartigue Handicap Hurdle, went to the Willie Mullins trained Tilabay which benefited from the expert guidance of jockey Ruby Walsh.
Walsh held up the son of Sadler's Wells before progressing through to lead before the final flight, eventually holding off the challenge of Siberian Tiger by two lengths.
Afterwards Mullins reported “that was Tilabay's first run for me over hurdles (having previously been in training with Adrian Sexton) but he had schooled very well and jumped very sharp at home. We felt he was well handicapped and he may now go for a 4YO winners' race or a Flat race. Ruby rode a very confident race on him.”
