Thunder Rain (7/1) came from a long way back to land the opening three-year-old claiming maiden in Roscommon for Ger Lyons.
Colin Keane 's mount was fully last of the 10 runners at the halfway point of this extended seven furlong race.
He came wide into the straight and began to make headway approaching the two pole.
He was ridden by Keane and picked up well to arrive in the lead with a furlong to go. The Fascinating Rock gelding kept on nicely to close out the race by two and a half lengths. Knocknakilla finished second at 3/1 by a length from Basharat (10/1).
Assistant trainer Shane Lyons said: “That was a great result for the horse, having his third run.
“Colin gave him a super ride. They went quick, and things were happening a bit quick for him early doors, but they came back and he was very genuine.
“He galloped straight to the line, he's still learning and will improve for it.”
