Trainer Tom Cooper and his son Bryan became the third parent-child combination of the afternoon to record a win at Tramore today, landing the Tramore Racecourse Centenary Celebrations Beginners Steeplechase with Our Girl Lucy
Our Girl Lucy made most of the running under Cooper Jnr and eventually stayed on well from the last for a length win over Ferris Bueller
The Coopers should have been following Mags and Danny Mullins and Jimmy and Jane Mangan into the winner's enclosure but unfortunately winning trainer, and owner Tom Cooper, was unable to attend due to illness. His son Bryan later stated “Dad is at home in bed with the flu so this should help him feel better!
“Our Girl Lucy travelled great and I kept having to take her back a bit. She jumps great and she just got underneath the last a bit. She is tough and very consistent.
