Willie Mullins followed up an exotic six-timer yesterday with a neat Naas treble today, completing the feat in the concluding Lengthen The Odds At BetVictor Bumper with impressive Jasmin De Vaux under the champion trainer's son Patrick Mullins.
A debut Loughanmore point-to-point winner for previous owner/trainer Stuart Crawford last April, the Tirwanako gelding today justified heavy 4/11 favouritism, bounding clear to beat runner-up His Nibs by 15 lengths.
Mullins senior yesterday recorded a Fairyhouse treble, a high-profile Cheltenham double and, at Doncaster, son Patrick steered Ashroe Diamond to a Grade 2 hurdle success.
Following today's rout by Jasmin De Vaux, Mullins senior stated “he’s booked his ticket on the box (for Cheltenham) after that.
“It looked like there was plenty of pace on from the very beginning and horses that run around Naas in that kind of style on this ground usually end up good racehorses.
“I’m very happy with him and he looks a nice acquisition for Simon and Isaac (Munir and Souede).”
Paddy Power, in a non-runner money-back special, cut Jasmin De Vaux to 7/1 (from 16s) for Cheltenham's Champion Bumper.
