The Beat goes on for Mullins
Champion Trainer and Jockey Willie Mullins and Paul Townend combined for a double at Fairyhouse today, securing yet another brace in the concluding New Value Hospitality Packages at Fairyhouse Beginners Chase with Up The Beat
Townend, who was returning from injury having suffered a hairline fracture to his collarbone a fortnight ago, moved the son of Beat All to the front from the second last and at the line, had little difficulty defeating Marble House by 11 lengths.
Afterwards Mullins said “Up The Beat just seems a natural jumper and I thought when he was jumping the fences at Ballyhack that I would have to plot a trip to Aintree at some stage with him!
“He did it well and we’ll look for another novice chase for him. He is a real staying chaser and will go up in trip to three miles now.”
