Tally completes treble for Russell
Davy Russell completed a treble and Philip Rothwell a double when Tally Em Up claimed the mares' novice chase at Thurles.
The grey was produced with a perfectly-timed run by Russell to lead coming to the last, in the Grade 3 event, and go on for a three-length victory over Inistioge
"I'm thrilled to bits. She's a way better chaser than she was over hurdles," said Rothwell.
"She always found one too good over hurdles and just couldn't get black-type.
"Davy was amazing on her. I was worried she wouldn't get the trip in the ground and with a penalty.
"I think there is a good mares' novice for her in Uttoxeter and we'll take it easy for a couple of weeks until then. My horses are flying at the moment."
Rothwell was called into the stewards room earlier after Vinnes Friend had finished sixth in the two-mile handicap hurdle and said:-
"I'm very very disappointed that the Stewards ordered blood samples from Vinnes Friend.
"Davy Russell, one of our leading riders, reported to them that she didn't handle the ground."
