He may have been a reserve but priced up at 16/1 this morning Your Pal Tal attracted a bit of interest for the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Dundalk.
With two nine form figures to his name, the Dark Angel colt, a 10/1 chance, was hardly the easiest winner to find for punters, but Wayne Lordan wasn't taking no for an answer and under a strong drive Your Pal Tal got home by half a length from the favourite, Rapid Approach
The victor runs in the Lolly For Dolly colours and he is owned by David Keoghan, Casey McLiney and Miss K Vaughan and trained by Tommy Stack.
Lordan explained: "When I pulled him out he had a bit of a look and pricked his ears but he kept on well.
"He handled the surface and he'll stay further. He's a big horse who might improve a bit over the winter." (AM & EM)
