Harry Swan was seen to good effect aboard On The Sixth Day when taking the concluding Racing Again August 3rd INH Flat Race at Sligo.
Second on her debut at Listowel last month, the John Ryan trained mare was sent off second favourite behind Grivei
Always prominent throughout under Swan, the young rider made a race winning move out of the back straight and had enough in hand to hold off his pursuers. Eire Street and Google L'ecu stayed on from out of the pack but could never get to the Ryan trained mare.
Grivei could muster no more in the home straight and eventually finished fifth.
John Ryan said: “She’s a real nice mare and she’ll go to Galway now for a winners’ bumper. She’s a smashing mare to have, a big strong mare who’s well bred and we’re very fond of her.
“She stays very well and is very genuine.”
