Swan back to form with Curragower
Charlie Swan's horses have been through an unusually quiet period recently but his Curragower was the Tipperary trainer's first winner of '09, when winning the Make Betfair Your New Year Resolution Maiden Hurdle at Tramore today.
The son of Deploy, ridden by David Casey, tracked the leaders, moved through to lead at the second last and although untidy at the final flight, kept on well for a three lengths win over Ardglen
Afterwards Swan reported "I honestly dont know who backed Curragower (7/2 - 7/4) as my horses had been running so badly! However he jumped well, despite the mistake at the final flight, and we'll probably see what handicap mark he receives now."
