The complexion of the INH Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle changed dramatically at the third last flight.
7/4 favourite Freeway Space appeared to have her rivals all at sea going to the third last in the 2m7f contest only to take a crashing fall. Thankfully horse and rider were soon back up. Magic Of Light was left in the lead but came under pressure after a slightly untidy jump two from home.
John Nicholson 's charge Ask Susan stayed on well and got to the front over the last to record a four length success under Mark Enright.
Only four finished in an attritional contest with 57 lengths back to the third placed Une Lavandiere
The 10/1 winner had taken a bumper at Tramore in December and had also been placed three times over hurdles in the past.
"She's tough and I never saw her jump so well. She is a good mare and I think alot of her. Chasing will be her game and what she does this year is a bonus,” said Nicholson.
"She will come back here for a three-mile race on the Saturday meeting (March 25). We'll give her a break over the summer after that."
