Super Daisy doubles up for Leigh & Austin
Trainer Willie Austin and jockey Andrew Leigh have enjoyed plenty of success together in recent times and the pair combined with Super Daisy which was following up a win last month with another in the Oakbruce Properties Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today.
Super Daisy needed a strong drive from Leigh to eventually score a hard fought half length success over Tulachsarain
Afterwards Austin stated "Super Daisy is a tough mare but we'll probably have to step her up in grade again now as I wouldn't like her carrying big weights in handicaps. She's a longterm chaser in the making."
Jockey Leigh was subsequently suspended for two days for excessive use of his whip.
