The Francis Flood trained Sunsetstorise gained a belated first win at Fairyhouse ten days ago and followed up at the Co Meath venue today, winning the BoyleSports Irish Grand National March 28th Handicap Chase under jockey Ger Fox.
The eight year old gelding had failed to win on his first 21 starts and despite having been raised nine pounds for his maiden win recently, followed up today when battling gamely on the run-in for an all out win over Crowded Room
Afterwards Fran Flood junior stated “that's the grade he's in, and at some stage we will step him up to three miles. He's had five runs in just over a month and will need a few weeks break now. I think he has to have that ground."
