Strand collects for Swan
Long Strand ran out a convincing winner of the Cashel Beginners Chase to get off the mark over fences.
Charlie Swan 's charge was given a positive ride by David Casey as he recorded a four-and-a-half length success.
The Saddlers' Hall gelding hit the front turning for home and asserted before the last. He kept on well in the closing stages to beat Boxing Along 0A10/3 joint-favourite Our Gar was seven lengths back in third while fellow market leader Mr Nosie was an early casualty.
"This horse has broke my heart!" said Swan afterwards.
"I thought he was a right horse once and hopefully now things might have changed and the tide has turned.
"The owner has been very patient. He always worked like a nice horse. We'll look for a long distance handicap now. He likes a trip and nice ground."
