Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning continued a productive few days when South East landed the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden (Plus 10 Race) at Listowel.
Willie Mullins' Maze Runner was the one for money here, and that Authorized gelding went off the 5/4 favourite under Chris Hayes.
The 'jolly' was slowly into stride and was switched right to the outer after a furlong.
He raced towards the rear and made his ground approaching the straight.
However Maze Runner couldn't live with South East who asserted in the closing stages for a two and three parts of a length win.
"Ground conditions are very tough and he got through it pretty well," said Manning.
"He's a big strong horse and had experience and fitness on his side. That experience was a huge plus out there."
