Ship makes his Mark on debut
Marksmanship is set to contest one of the Derby Trials after an impressive winning debut in the 1m2f maiden at the Curragh.
Joseph O'Brien produced the son of Galileo with a well-timed run to lead at the furlong pole.
The Ballydoyle colt strode clear in good style inside the final furlong to post a two-and-a-half length victory over 5/2 favourite Notable Graduate
The winner was landing something of a gamble after being backed from 7/1 into 100/30 second choice on course.
"He did it nicely and I'm delighted with him. He was drawn badly but travelled well," said O'Brien.
"He looked a clear cut winner over some fancied horses and we'll look at a Derby trial for him now.
"Being by Galileo a step up in trip shouldn't be a problem for him."
