The Andy Slattery trained Sharjah gained a deserved second win of the Dundalk winter series when landing the concluding Floodlit Friday Nights Handicap at this evening, under Declan McDonogh.
The son of Shamardal had form figures of '21222' at the Co Louth venue since October and deservedly gained a second win, scoring by a half a length from Alvar
Afterwards Slattery stated “in his last seven runs he hasn't been out of the first three and hasn't been out of the first two in his last six. He loves this place and we'll keep him going.
“He'd probably win on grass but he wants real fast ground and we don't get it (in Ireland). He'll win a hurdle race too – he's won a three-year-old hurdle before.”
