Shannak continued his good recent progression for Tony Mullins when winning the Your Clubs Fundraiser At Fairyhouse, Enquire Today Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse today, scoring under the trainer's son Danny Mullins.

The son of Shantou was held up by Mullins before making progress entering the home straight. Shannak eventually hit top gear from the second last and in the end scored a five lengths win over Candle Island

Afterwards trainer Mullins, having his third winner this month, stated “it looked like three runs in a month was starting to tell. I’d say we’ll freshen him up, and you probably won’t see him for five or six weeks. He goes on that ground.

“He’ll get another belt from the handicapper, and when he has to run in a 123 or a 130 (handicap) life will be a bit more difficult.”
