Shanavoun Lady caused a 28/1 upset when making all to win the Follow Kilbeggan On Facebook Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan today, scoring for trainer Cormac Farrell and jockey Adam Short.
The seven year old daughter of Gold Well had failed to win in seven previous outings, four in point-to-points, but was second on her previous start in a Point-to-Point Bumper at Wexford in March.
Today the Anna Calder-owned daughter of Gold Well made all and stayed on strongly for a 3.75L win over Fakir D'alene to credit jockey Short with his sixth winner of the season.
Winning trainer Farrell wasn't present.
