Selskar scores in famous silks
Cormac Farrell's Selskar with Sean Flanagan up, secured an all Wexford success when landing the Mallow Town Summer BBQ Evening July 8th Beginners Steeplechase at Cork in the famous Dawn Run silks of owner/breeder Jeremy Hill.
Backed from 25/1 into 16/1, the chase debutant stayed on well to lead in the closing stages as first Lismakeery (jumped left and mistakes latter stages) and then Commandment flattered to deceive.
Hill, who stages the popular Monksgrange point-to-point for the Bree Foxhounds, said: "He's bred for the flat. He's the result of 15 years of in-breeding. He is terribly difficult to train as he gets niggles. He struggled over hurdles.
"We have no plans."
