The Denis Cullen trained See Me Here caused a 20/1 upset when gaining his maiden win at Punchestown today, landing the ITBA Next Generation Racing To A Better Future Handicap Hurdle under jockey Luke Dempsey.
The American bred son of State City had made a pleasing start to his career when third in a bumper at Gowran in 2013, finishing just half a length behind this year's Galway Plate winner Shanahan's Turn.
Following today's win Cullen revealed "he's been a very frustrating horse and has had plenty of problems along the way. In fairness the syndicate (BRK Plus from Kerry, Waterford and Ballymore Eustace) have been very patient, and that's the first time he's had good ground.
"He was none the worse of his fall on Saturday (brought down at the first at Fairyhouse) and was running around in the field so we decided to let him take his chance. Luke gave him a smashing ride.
"He'll probably have another run in a similar handicap and then go chasing, although I don't think he'll go on soft ground."
