Robert Tyner’s string continue in great form and the Kinsale trainer again successfully teamed up with stable jockey Philip Enright to land the Girls Nite Out At Clonmel Races Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Previously winner of a point-to-point and a Wexford bumper, the six-year-old mare was making her debut over hurdles but made light of that inexperience with a convincing victory.

The well-backed 9/4 joint favourite travelled well to challenge early in the straight, and quickened to the front approaching the final flight.

Enright only needed to push out the daughter of King’s Theatre on the run-in to record a four and a half lengths verdict over Hell Cat Maggie with fellow 9/4 joint favourite Mollyanna another nine lengths adrift in third.

“She was always a good leaper and won a point-to-point on very soft ground but she would prefer a bit of nice ground. She will go for a mares’ winners race as long as the ground is safe,” said Tyner’s wife Mary.
