The John Gleeson-trained Boss Robin rallied gamely to secure the spoils in the maiden hunters chase at Thurles.
Ray Barron bounced out in front on the Mahler gelding and the 5/1 shot jumped well at the head of affairs.
He was joined going down to the last by Ryehill and responded well on the run-in, putting his head back in front in the closing stages to record a game half-length success.
"He had won two point to points and is a tough horse. He is big, loves that ground and will run on the track (in handicap chases) eventually,” said Gleeson.
"His two point to point wins were in Comea (local track) which was a big thing as his owners Aidan and Susan Archdeacon are from Fethard and are good friends of ours for years.
"We're having great fun with the horse, we'll tip away and go to Cork during Easter for a winners' of one hunters chase."
