Rightside gets punters off at a winning start at Killarney
Plenty of overnight rain turned the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, for two year old fillies, into a real test of stamina with the Kevin Prendergast trained Rightside staying on best to win under Chris Hayes.
The daughter of High Chapparral lost her footing approaching the straight and looked held over a furlong out. However the filly responded well under a strong ride from Hayes, eventually getting to the front close home, for a length and a quarter win.
Prendergast was absent but Hayes did report “Rightside hated that ground but her class got her through it. The experience gained at Gowran on her debut stood to her well.”
