Rhydwyn made all and ran out a comfortable winner of the last at Limerick, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

Previously trained by Charles Hills, the son of Kodiac ran excellent race to finish second on his debut for Tom Hogan at Listowel earlier this month.

Backed from 3s to 2s on-course today, the bay gelding was sent straight to the front by Billy Lee and was a few lengths clear with over a furlong to go, keeping on well when ridden in the closing stages, going on to score by two and three parts of a length. Hurricane Cliff (16/1) kept on to take second under Wayne Lordan for Henry de Bromhead, while newcomer Darkened (16/1) was another two and a half lengths back in third.

The Aidan O'Brien trained Globe Theatre was sent off the well-backed 6/4 favourite (from 9/4), and he finished a disappointing fourth.

Hogan said afterwards: "He is a very nice horse and came on a bit from his run in Listowel. He will go on any ground and is a good actioned horse and strides out well.

"He has a nice pedigree and is owned by Julie and David Routledge-Martin and their nephew Dan Hall. It is nice to have a winner for them as they enjoy their racing and we had a second for them last night. Hopefully we can have them here the next day he runs.

"We'll have to stand back and have a think about it now but I'd say he can come back to seven furlongs and has lots of options. I think he can progress."
