Cork racecourse passed an 8am inspection, so their flagship meeting on Sunday which features the Grade 2 Hilly Way Chase goes ahead.
The meeting had been in doubt due to forecast freezing temperatures overnight but fortunately the area missed the worst of the weather, meaning racegoers will get to see Champion Chase winner Energumene make his seasonal debut.
Clerk of the course Val O'Connell reported: "Following a precautionary inspection at Cork this morning I'm happy to say that the track is fit for racing and the meeting will go ahead. The ground is yielding to soft."
