Quick treble for Mullins as Eurotiep obliges at 1/6

Trainer Willie Mullins completed an opening race treble when 1/6 favourite Eurotiep accounted for his three rivals in the RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Novice Hurdle.
The 7-year-old by Lauro, successful in a Punchestown bumper and Thurles maiden hurdle already this season, was once again ridden to victory by amateur Aubrey McMahon.
Eurotiep made all the running and McMahon shut the door on Jack Kennedy aboard Gevrey (5/1) after the second-last where the winner jumped out to his right a little and Kennedy spied an opportunity to poke up the inner heading towards the home bend.
He didn’t quite have the horse to get into the gap, though, and McMahon’s mount asserted again before the last and wasn’t hard pressed to score by two and a quarter lengths.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins remarked: "That's great for Aubrey and the Down The Hatch Syndicate, that's Aubrey's third win on him and they make a good team.
“Luke McMahon put together the syndicate to buy this horse.
“He'll go for the final of this race now at Punchestown, if there is something nice in between we might go for that but the final is the big goal.
“He gallops and jumps and he might be Aubrey's first winner over fences next season!”
