- Prunelle causes 33/1 Tipp shock
Prunelle causes 33/1 Tipp shock
Art Sleuth (30/100f) proved the second beaten long odds-on chance at Tipperary this evening, when finishing third shock 33/1 winner Prunelle De L'Orme in the www.tipperaryraces.ie Hurdle.
Odds-on Art Sleuth failed to quicken when asked for his effort after the third last flight, eventually finishing a well beaten third, with Prunelle De L'Orme, Patrick Mangan arriving to lead before the final flight, before recording a three and a half lengths win over Blindspin
The win was 18 year old Mangan's second racecourse winner and his first over hurdles. His father, and winning trainer Jimmy Mangan, later reported "I'm delighted for Patrick as he, and his amateur jockey Johnny Barry, are going to spend the summer in France riding out with trainer Francois Cottin."
He added %u201CPrunelle De L'Orme disappointed a few times before but was suited by a handy field and a lovely racing weight (10st2lbs). Hopefully we'll find a race for her at the Galway Festival.%u201D
