Prince proves too strong for Romanesco
The nightmare continued for odds-on punters in the 2m3f maiden hurdle at Limerick as Prince of Forwards proved too strong for Romanesco
Alan Crowe sent his mount to the front from the 4/7 favourite at the final flight.
Pat Hughes' charge kept up the gallop on the run-in to run out a convincing four-length winner.
"It was a good performance as I didn't think he would handle the sticky ground," said Hughes.
"He likes a bit of nice ground. Jumping is his trump card. He hits flat spots in his races, I'm not sure if it's to do with the ground.
"He's a funny individual and it's a family trait. I think that was a weak enough race. I might let him off for a while and then try him on goodish ground."
