Michael O'Hare produced Some Pride (first time tongue-strap) fit and well on his first start since the Leopardstown Christmas Festival to land some bets under Noel McParlan in the McWilliam Park Hotel Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
Some Pride (8s into 7s on course) was highlighted as a market mover through the day, along with his stable companion, Mike McCann, which eventually had to miss out on his place in the 6.50 owing to the ground.
Some Pride had to dig deep on the run in to repel 7/2 favourite Itsonthelist by a length.
"I was really confident about our first horse (Cracking Man - finished last in the fifth and didn't go un-backed either) but I picked the wrong distance for him. He didn't stay" said O'Hare.
"This fella just gallops all day long. I have no plans for him, today was the plan."
