Poignant victory for Tyner
Whatwillwecallher recorded a poignant victory when digging deep in the straight for Liz Lalor to land the lady riders' mares bumper.
The Old Vic six-year-old was ridden by trainer Robert Tyner's late son Jack when scoring here on January 26.
The following week Tyner (19) took a heavy fall at Dungarvan point-to-point, and tragically failed to recover from an induced coma and surgery. Jacksonslady looked a big threat early in the straight but the 1/2 favourite found a lot more under pressure, and was driven clear in the final furlong to win by 15 lengths.
Kanturk owner David Cotter was represented by his daughter Margaret who said: “We will try to win another bumper, and Aintree could be on the cards.”
