Percy makes excellent start over fences

Presenting Percy could hardly have made a better start over the larger obstacles when proving successful in the W.B. Gavin & Co. Irish EBF Beginners Chase at Galway.
The Pertemps Final hero from Cheltenham back in March, again had Davy Russell in the plate for this assignment.
Russell enjoyed his spin on the Sir Percy gelding as he jumped well and got the better of favourite De Plotting Shed by three lengths.
"I'm happy and Davy (Russell) is very happy so that's a good sign. Today we were starting him out and we'll see where we go from here," stated winning trainer Pat Kelly.
"He jumps well and should do (make as good a chaser as hurdler). It was a very good race and now it's just a matter of giving him enough experience. There's plenty there (improvement) and he's an exciting horse for the future, once he stays in one piece."
