The Pat Fahy-trained Sienne D'or opened her account when claiming the Lisronagh Handicap Hurdle at Clonmel this afternoon.
It was a 14th career start for the Shirocco mare who had been fourth on a couple of occasions at Thurles in November before getting badly hampered and unseating at Punchestown on her most recent outing.
Danny Mullins produced his mount to lead, travelling well, before the second last in today's two-miler.
The 8/1 shot was asked for an effort after the penultimate flight and stayed on gamely in the closing stages to post a three-and-a-half length win over Johanna Yeats
11/8 favourite My Boy Bob finished fourth after coming under pressure before the second last.
"More work went into getting her here and it was tough going. She was getting injured and injured and injured and in Punchestown the last day she was brought down. I was saying where is this going to end!” said Fahy.
"Then she reared up down the stable yard she was so well. You'd think I was after winning a graded race, it means so much. Only for Richard Finnegan, the main man in the syndicate, she might not be left in my yard but the syndicate were good.
"We had an idea she might handle the ground but you couldn't get a bit of luck with her.
"Even though it was a 0-95, it is important for the yard and the staff, as a lot went into it."
