Onwiththeparty stayed on strongly in the closing stages to run out a convincing winner of the final race of the season at Sligo when taking the bumper on today's card.
Nina Carberry had hit the front going out on the final circuit on the Sir Harry Lewis gelding and got a good tune from the Charlie Swan-trained runner in the closing stages. Giantofaman tried to throw down a challenge turning for home in the 2m2f event but again looked a difficult ride, running around under pressure in the straight.
Onwiththeparty galloped on strongly at the head of affairs to record a five-length victory over the 6/4 favourite.
The 10/3 winner (from 3/1) hadn't run since finishing a decent enough third at the venue back in May.
“He was very green. He's very babyish and not really a bumper horse but he did it well and really loves heavy ground,” was Carberry's verdict afterwards.
“I'd say he'd be a nice jumper for the future.”
The tricky bend away from the stands again claimed a victim with Mr Raj running out and unseating owner/rider John Reddington.
