Opera stars at Sligo

The Jim Bolger trained Wexford Opera under Kevin Manning, gained a second career win in the Sligo GAA Race Day August 19th Handicap at Sligo today, justifying 7/2 favouritism in the process.
The fine looking son of New Approach raced prominently throughout under Manning who moved the almost fully black gelding to the front a furlong out, going away for a length and a half win over Fastidious
Bolger was absent but Manning later said “he travelled really well and picked up and did it nicely. On his run at Naas, he was probably entitled to do that and he handled the ground well. He did it well and I was happy with him.”
