O'Hare completes memorable treble
Restricted trainer Michael O'Hare had a memorable day at Naas today, completing an impressive 256/1 treble when his Sweet Shock ran out the impressive five lengths winner of the concluding Thoroughbred County Bumper at Naas today.
Ridden by Luke McNiff, the half brother to Sweet Wake hit the front under two furlongs out and soon opened up a clear lead, eventually running out a comfortable winner.
The winner, which was backed from 4/1 into 3/1f, was described by O'Hare as “a nice horse who loves heavy ground. He'll probably go for another bumper again next.”
Amazingly, the win was just Castlebellingham, Co Louth based O'Hare's (a son of bookmaker Barney O'Hare) fifth career success.
