O'Grady and McNamara on the mark
Jockey Andrew McNamara combined with his boss Edward O’Grady to take the ‘Tote Trifecta Rollover’ Handicap Hurdle on Kitty’s Lord at Punchestown this evening.
The son of Flemensfirth, contesting her first handicap, moved to the front at after the final flight to defeat Spa Well with 11/4 favourite Bobby John which had been off the bridle from some way out, finishing well for fourth.
Afterwards O’Grady stated “that’s my first winner for Kitty Lord’s owner Donal Boylan who Phoenix Rose was touched off for us in a mares hurdles on Sunday. He’s just about to get on a plane from Hong Kong but at least the horse made it home before him! He’ll have one more hurdle run before going chasing.”
