There was a relatively rare winning 'mother-daughter' combination at Wexford today, when jockey Katie O’Farrell landed the Free Spins At 188BET Casino Handicap Hurdle on her mother Cathy O’Farrell’s veteran Star Of Angels.
O’Farrell, registering her sixth career winner, produced the 12 year old gelding with his challenge on the outer in the home straight and in the end the pair recorded a four and a quarter lengths win over Ted
Winning trainer John ‘Shark’ Hanlon wasn’t present but the winning jockey later stated “that's his third run in quick succession and he is coming out of his races very well.
"This horse is a tricky customer but it's great he finally got his head in front."
O'Farrell's win came at the expense of 13 rivals, one of which Jacksey's Well was ridden by her British based jockey brother Conor O'Farrell.
