Joseph O'Brien completed an opening races double at Dundalk this evening when steering the Paul Hickey trained Deep Speed to a deserving win in the Dundalk Stadium - Light Up Your Night Maiden.
The son of Invincible Spirit had been in the prizemoney on each of his previous six starts and today benefited from O'Brien's strength in the saddle to see off the challenge of Lean And Keen by half a length.
Afterwards Hickey stated “he deserved that as he's been knocking on the door for a while. It's great for the owner (Michael Daly) who has supported me since I started. I'm delighted and it was a great ride by Joseph.”
