They may have been a little unfortunate half-an-hour earlier with the fourth-placed Go On Murt but in division two of the Play The Tote Placepot Handicap Jessica Harrington and Fran Berry got on the scoresheet at Naas courtesy of the hat-trick scorer Bendzoldan
Again equipped with cheek-pieces and making it three from four since joining Mrs Harrington, the Refuse To Bend filly defied top-weight in this seven furlong contest. She was always on the gallop and after leading two down she went on a furlong out on the way to accounting for Zelos Dream by two and a half lengths. Mea Parvitas in the My Murphy colours of Hans Joerg Zindel, came home well to finish fourth under Shane Foley for Mick Halford.
Mrs Harrington said: "It's hard to win three races and she's just improved. She was rated 70 as a two-year-old and maybe she's just starting to get back to that form.
"We'll move her up in grade and I expect she'll get a few pounds for that. We'll keep her to seven furlongs or a mile and she's very honest. Fran said she's winning with her ears pricked."
