The Limerick Stewards enquired into the start of the mares maiden hurdle when 4/5 favourite Summer Star and eventual runner-up The Bishop's Day lost ground. The report reads:
'The Stewards enquired into the start of this race. Evidence was heard from Mr PF Graffin, Turf Club Starter, M F Burke, rider of Aves Mr B O’Neill, rider of Pharney Lady B J Cooper, rider of The Bishop’s Day and R Walsh, rider of Summer Star.
Having viewed a recording of the start and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied a fair start had been effected and that the incident was as result of Aves and Pharney Lady being reluctant after the start and causing accidental interference. They therefore noted the explanations offered and took no further action.'
