Nina takes last on Dr Tommy
Nina Carberry made all on Dr Tommy to land the odds in Kilbeggan’s concluding bumper by four lengths from Flycorn
The 4/6 favourite was kept up to his work by Carberry as they exited the final bend. It looked like Flycorn (9/4) was poised to challenge but he drifted badly off the bend to lose any chance he had of winning.
The pair pulled well clear of third placed Rock On Mary as she finished 27 lengths down.
“He’d like better ground though he handled that yielding ground ok,” Dr Tommy’s trainer Kieran Purcell said.
“Nina said he was idling in front and needs a hurdle in front of him to concentrate.
“He has already schooled well over hurdles.”
