Neophilia on the mark for Irish Derby victors

Trading Leather's connections were on the mark at Gowran today, winning the Miller Genuine Draft Handicap with Neophilia who was losing her maiden tag on her fifth start in handicap company.
Neophilia, trained by Jim Bolger and carrying Kevin Manning in Jackie Bolger's Irish Derby winning colours, is by the same stallion (Teofilo) as Trading Leather. Today's race was of much less significance but the winner did win well, by four lengths, and seemed to benefit from the step up to nine furlongs.
Bolger later stated “I have a broodmare now – she has a pedigree. She'll stay a bit further and likes that good ground.”
