Following on from their success with Peace Envoy half an hour earlier, Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore completed a Listed race double when Cuff got the job done in style in the Coolmore E.B.F. Fillies' Sprint Stakes at Naas.
Never far away, Moore switched the chestnut daughter of Galileo to the inner under two furlongs out.
Cuff (11/4 favourite) was ridden to lead a furlong and a half out and she kept on well in the final furlong to register a three length win over Yulong Baobei Spy Ring had place claims when hampered inside the final furlong. Kieren Fallon soon eased up on the Bushranger filly.
"She was unbelievably green the last day but has come forward well. It's unusual to see a Galileo filly starting off over five but she's pacey. We'll look at something like the Albany with her," revealed O'Brien.
The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Spy Ring, ridden by K. Fallon, and Yulong Baobei, ridden by S. Foley, where it appeared Spy Ring received a check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards considered it a racing incident and took no further action.
