My Immortal overcame a final flight blunder when winning Punchestown's Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Hurdle today, as his trainer Barry Connell registered a second winner in two days.
By Shantou, responsible for the half-hour earlier winner Ramillies My Immortal had moved to lead travelling well when making his late mistake but rallied well on the run-in under jockey Sean Flanagan, for a four and half lengths win over Portstorm
Following the race trainer Connell stated “the ground was too quick for him in Listowel the last time and he got jarred up.
“That's more his thing today, winter ground and a trip. There is a handicap hurdle for him in Fairyhouse, a 2m6f 0-140.
“He could run away during the summer if he got nice ground and he'll make into a nice chaser.”
Connell won a handicap chase with the Donie McInerney-partnered Call The Tune at Navan yesterday.
