Murtagh records double
Johnny Murtagh recorded a double this afternoon after he won the Ballybin Maiden aboard the John Hayden trained Trinity Scholar for owner George Grothier.
Winning trainer Hayden said afterwards, “We just have to keep her head right. She’s a very good filly and she’s shown us a lot all year. She’s a half sister to Caradak. We might just go for another handicap and I think she’ll probably be another Emily Blake next year.”
The first leg of Murtagh’s double came with Signore Momento winning the Discover Meath Handicap for trainer Dave Myerscough.
