Murtagh completes quick double
Johnny Murtagh recorded a quick double when Lightening Thief came home in front of the Panoramic Restaurant Auction Race for trainer Willie McCreery.
Murtagh had the 11/8 favourite in front over a furlong out and kept on well for a cosy three length win over Catalpa Sail
Winning trainer McCreery said afterwards: “That was good, I would have been very disappointed if he didn’t win.”
“He was very unlucky the last day when he was nearly knocked down at Tipperary.”
“So we just wanted to get him back out and get his confidence back.”
“There are plenty of options for him now, we might go for the Listed Race over five furlongs in the Curragh in two weeks time.”
