Murtagh back in winner's enclosure
Johnny Murtagh who had a very heavy fall here in Sunday was back in the winner’s enclosure after he partnered Mister Tee from the Ger Lyons stable to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
Winning trainer Lyons stated afterwards: “I was a very worried man when they were left standing in the stalls whilst trying to catch the loose horse. It’s very hard to get two year olds to stand quiet.”
“He’s been second so many times but in my opinion he’s just always come up against something better on the day. The only time I doubted him was when he finished at the Curragh but as it turned out he was beaten by a very good filly of Tommy Stacks.”
“All of my two years have been running well all season and I hope he will make a Group 3 horse in time.”
