Willie Mullins competed a treble at Navan today when his Lyrical Theatre made it eight wins this weekend for the Champion Trainer, when coasting to a thoroughly impressive win in the concluding Listed ITBA Fillies Scheme European Breeders Fund Mares Bumper.
Ridden by the trainer's son Patrick Mullins, the daughter of King's Theatre went well clear of her rivals inside the final furlong for an easy and impressive eight and a half lengths win over the previously unbeaten Twentytwo's Taken
Following the win, Mullins senior stated “she is the real deal and is improving all the time.
“She has never showed anything like that at home but her pedigree is coming out in her and she looks very smart. I thought she'd win a summer bumper but not go on to do a lot more than that.
“We'll have to decide if we go jumping or wait until next season but we may think about the Cheltenham bumper.”
The winning Hibo Syndicate is made up of William McDonald and Joseph Rooney, who both live in Dublin.
