Mullins sole juvenile hits bookies
Super Sonic Boom the only two-year-old with champion National Hunt trainer Willie Mullins, did him proud by justifying good support in the Irish Wire Products-sponsored seven furlong maiden.
The Azamour colt was backed from 6/1 in to 9/2, and made all under Paul Townend keeping on well in the closing stages to beat Footprint by three quarters of a length with Silent Dancer the same distance further back in third.
“He's my best two-year-old!” quipped Mullins afterwards before adding, “We were a bit disappointed with him first time at Leopardstown, and I told Paul to make the best of his low draw today. Paul said he idled a bit in front, and we'll look for a winners race.”
