Cool Park (6/4f) improved on two recent placed efforts when gaining a first success today, as the Willie Mullins-trained mare landed Fairyhouse's opening Sign Up To GavinLynchRacing.com Mares Maiden Hurdle, under jockey Paul Townend.
The keen-going Walk In The Park mare had previously finished third at Wexford in August and second at Tramore last month and today scored a somewhat dramatic success as chasing, but under pressure, Amboyna exited at the final flight, leaving the winner to score by 18 lengths from Fillusin
Regarding the Twist In The Tail Syndicate-owned mare, Townend commented “she’s growing up and maturing. She ran into a decent sort (Savante) in Tramore but did things wrong that day and there was a loose one annoying us. She jumped like a buck today and a more galloping track probably helped as well.
“She’s a winner today but will have tougher days ahead.”
